A place we experience every day
We are Annabel and Piet, and our family has lived in Stalhille for many years. It's a village we consciously chose, and where we still enjoy the peace, space, and exceptional location every day.
For us, Stalhille isn't a random location, but a place where we truly feel at home. Its proximity to Bruges, the coast, and the open polder landscape make it the ideal combination of tranquility and accessibility. It was precisely this feeling we wanted to share with others, and that's how De Smisse came into being.
From love for the region to De Smisse
Because we are so attached to this area, we wanted to create a holiday home that completely matches the way we live here: quiet, comfortable and with attention to quality.
De Smisse was designed as a place where you can slow down, where you wake up in the morning with a view of the polders and where you return home in the evening after a bike ride, a day in Bruges, or a trip to the seaside. Everything has been thoughtfully designed with the same expectations we have when we go on vacation.
With respect for peace and quiet and the environment
To keep De Smisse a pleasant place for everyone, we ask our guests to respect a few simple rules:
- Smoking is not allowed in the house
- Pets are not allowed
- No noisy parties, out of respect for the peace and privacy of the area
These agreements help us to maintain the serene atmosphere that Stalhille and De Smisse represent.
